Sheets sharp, but Brewers lose 6-3

1 03 2008

Sorry for the brevity of the post and the lateness of it, but I unfortunately don’t have much time to post right now.  I did not want to leave you all hanging though!

After being mostly a pitcher’s duel in the beginning of the game, the bats came alive in the second half.  The Brewers were not able to keep up with the Rockies, and the Crew fell 6-3.

Ben Sheets looked extremely sharp today, only needing 15 pitches to throw two shutout innings.  Sheets normally isn’t the best in Spring Training, so it was a very welcome sight to see him pitching with such precision so early.  MLB.com reports that Ben found the correct arm slot, getting much more movement on the ball.

Vinny Rottino hit a solo shot in the 7th, but the Brewers got many hits but could not get anyone across the plate.

Curious to see what else happened in the game?  Here you are.
